
Mentoring Girls
One-to-one and small group sessions for girls aged 11+

Having worked with young girls for many years in both one-to-one and group sessions, I have witnessed firsthand the complex events that leave them with persistent negative narratives and big emotions. When these emotions get suppressed, they can show up later in mental health issues, including anxiety, panic attacks and self-harm.
Negative events often lead to rumination, which can become exaggerated. This can shape not only their daily experiences but also how they see themselves. Often leaving them with low self-worth, depression and shame.
When a challenging situation arises, the thoughts surrounding it can become deeply ingrained, especially if they are allowed to linger. A single negative experience can spark rumination that lasts for hours, days, months or years. Unfortunately, negative experiences tend to embed themselves in the psyche far more persistently than positive ones.
When multiple negative experiences accumulate, it can become increasingly difficult for someone to break free from these patterns, creating significant emotional and mental health challenges over time. Even the smallest negative event, if left unchecked, can grow into difficult patterns over time. That’s why it’s crucial to address them early.
In my work with young girls, I guide them through a process of closely examining their complete being. Looking at everything from diet, screen time, well-being, and sleep. We explore tools to support their well-being in healthy and constructive ways. Together, we address the emotions underlying all issues and build the confidence needed to make meaningful changes. This empowers girls to break free from negative cycles and embrace a more positive and resilient mindset.

Small group sessions
Holding weekly sessions for small groups of girls. Max 6 in a group. We work through what it takes to stay healthy and kind to ourselves and the people around us. When girls come together, they see that they are not alone. During their time here, they form lasting bonds.
